How Did We Name Our Resort?

The name “Tico Time” is a phrase used to describe Costa Ricans’ nonchalant attitude toward time, and their relaxed attitude in general. It is similar to island time.

The owners, Jenny and Rob Holmes, have traveled to Costa Rica many times over the years. They love the relaxed nature as well as how green/eco-friendly the country is. It is in part through the Costa Ricans’ attitude that Costa Rica is one of the only five Blue Zones in the world in which people live very long and happy lives.

Tico Time River Resort strives to emulate these characteristics and provide a tightly knit RV community right here in Durango, Colorado. Come enjoy the beautiful mountains, sandy beaches, and refreshing river, and lose track of time.
